EFR type scope question
Hello,
I have been playing with a air rifle. I bought a side focus 5.5-24 airgun scope that was supposed to be great. didn't work out.
Anyway I need a variable power efr scope that has good optics. I have a older VX3 6.5-24 and its a good one. how are the new VX-3i EFR scopes. are they as good better? do you know of any others that have Good optics.
thanks, Jim

Re: EFR type scope question
Old Sparky: What type of shooting are you trying to shoot with the air rifle? What are the distances that you are wanting to shoot at? What air rifle are you wanting to put a scope on? That would help a lot to get you better information.
What side focus scope did you buy and why did it not work out?
I don't know anything about the scopes that you mentioned. For air rifle silhouette, I use a weaver T-24 with a 1/2 minute dot on my open class and 10 meter target rifles. On my TX200 spring gun, I am using a Bushnell elite 4200 in 6-24 power (left on 24X) with a 1/2 minute dot.
The Bushnell will focus down to 10 yards. The Weaver will focus down to somewhere around 13 yards (I think).
I hopes this helps. Ken

Re: EFR type scope question
HI ,
Ken Green told you the straight dope ...
I wouldn't use anything but a WEAVER T or a BAUSCH & LOMB 6-24X ; now a BUSHNELL 6-24X ...
IF offhand shooting , try for around a 1/2 minute dot OR a nice duplex reticle , ENJOY !
GSL .
