Please see the attached letter from Aaron Farmer, Deputy Director of Competitions for the NRA regarding the .308 Marlin Express.
It will NOT be allowed at the 2018 Nationals.

Re: .308 Marlin Express
Guess I have one less loading project. Received the same letter by e-mail this evening. Best wishes, I won't be joining you after all.

JW-
I will have my 336XLR along with MOA or better ammo at the Nationals as a backup to my 336A. You are very welcome to use it for the match.
Hope to see you in Raton,

Re: .308 Marlin Express
Tim,
Thanks for the very kind offer. This year I just finished one major exercise and have another that will keep me from being able to go to Nationals. Fully intend to go in 2019. By then I can come up with something. Great to know just how generous this community of shooters can be. May want to talk to you on load development for these cartridges. Learned a lot from my 25-20 project. 30-30 or 35 Remington I have no experience. Suspect that techniques are different from either the 25-20 class or the 308/260 class that I am accustom to loading.
Again thanks much. Hope to see you in 2019.

I can’t help much with 35Rem (I have one, but not happy with what I’ve tried in it so far), but I can help regarding the 30-30 loads. I’ve probably a dozen loads ranging from very light to “more than adequate” that are plenty accurate for this game and seem to work well in every rifle I’ve tried so far. Contact me thru a PM and I’ll share.
