Did Someone Mention a Match? In Tennessee?

Post by Hotrodrockets »

What If.....
well, not really what if as I am already planning on doing this.

Some crazy guy in Tennessee had a match? A match that was BOTH Small Bore Rife And Small bore Lever Action?

Winners from both matches but also a Grand Aggregate Lever and Rifle? Hmmmm best all around shooter.....

Sounds Like Fun! Sound's Like I 'm planning this for May and October (each on the Weekend of those months) At Tennessee Sports Foundation . A small club hidden away in Jackson Tennessee where we like to hear the sounds of metal targets falling to the ground!

Now realize our little Silhouette range can accommodate a Maximum of 32 shooters and flow smoothly. But we do have nice bathrooms! And a Clubhouse with A/C.

So as I plan this out, preregistration will be necessary.

What do you think?
Crazy, Maybe.
Fun, Definitely.

And....... there will be TACOS! And probably some barbecue, cant swing a Turkey Target around here and not hit some barbecue.

Now tell me how much this won't work! I love a challenge!

P.S. I don't even own a lever gun yet.... don't tell anyone. No one will ever know.

Tempting, but a little far for one day and 2-40s.
Two days and 2-40s each day might be worth it,if another ridge runner would care to share the trip.

I'm liking this....as long as I've got a few weeks to plan my escape, .....'er trip.
I'll loan you my lever gun for the match so long as we're on different relays.

2 days. ? This was a suggestion by the local chamber of commerce person also.
I am waaayyy open to sugestions . Thus the post here at Chickens O Steel.
If I decide 2 days. I know the Foundation is o.k. with that.
But format..... Small Bore day One and SB Lever gun for day two ,would be the easyer set up.
Could be Sb Rifle, Sb Hunter each 40 rounds Saturday. Then 2 x 40 rounds Lever Sunday.
Personally I prefer this format. I like it when people think the same way I do. (Kinda scary)
It would be a true test of Silhouette all -a -round skills.

Who could be the King (or Queen) of Tennessee?

..... yes I have a t-shirt logo with a certain "King" already made up.
Graceland is only an hour from my house! :D

I may live in the middle of nowhere...... but Jackson, Tn. It's a regular little city.

-Jackson, Tn has Hotels I am working on a hotel or two with a reduced rate for those weekends.

Camping:
Chicksaw State park Is about 25 minutes South of the Range

Never had Camping on the Foundation's property that I know of. I will have to ask if that is possible. Definitely no showers so primitive and or self contained if it is at all possible. We certainly have the space I just don't know if there are restrictions ( i'm on the board of directors and it's never come up).

I'm going to up- date the original post to reflect the 2 day event format. (everyone I talked to said yes for 2 days)

Remember DANG 9 got me started in all this Silhouette stuff.... it's his fault. :D

Updates:
Camping On Site = YES (your welcome) :) Please be self contained and or Primitive. No shower facilities on site. Bathrooms Yes.

Prizes = In the works already have some stuff in hand. Folks around here are friendly and generous.

Food= It's the south...... you will be fed well.

Answer to questions:
1.Entry forms / When ? November likely. Need everything official and set with Foundation.

2.Number of shooters will max out at 32. Yes

3. Both classes at same time? = YUP. Example you would shoot AM. Smallbore PM Lever Saturday - Reverse Sunday.
This is .... ummm an Intimate venue. (as in small) So no long walks from Rams to Chickens. But it makes for a friendly shoot.

4.Practice? Yes Friday. Probably all day after 9:00am The facilities will be open to members but 100yard range will be ours.

Please don"t be shy to ask me question Hotrodrocketshop@gmail.com or Hotrodrockets@yahoo.com

I call myself looking but didn’t see exactly when this will happen. I’m interested but I need to know a firm date. Thanks.
