Marlin 336 Hammer Spur
Is a hammer spur supposed to be included with a new Marlin 336?
I contacted Marlin about a hammer spur for my new 336XLR SS only because the hammer spur was mentioned in the manual as if it's supposed to be included in the box. I asked, "Please advise if this is an optional item." Marlin responded with a support ticket to send the rifle back.
Obviously, I'm not sending the rifle back for a missing hammer spur. They can send that to me in a tiny Ziploc plastic bag if it's supposed to be included with the new rifle.

Good question. Did you talk with a live person or do the email thing?

Re: Marlin 336 Hammer Spur
I used the Marlin website Resources/Warranty page and mistakenly submitted a repair form. I'll call 800-544-8892 after the New Year holiday.
I'm wondering if the hammer spur should have been in the box.

My 336 came with a hammer spur, but the dang thing kept popping off while I was shooting, so I no longer use it.

Perhaps they thought you were referring to the spur that is integral to the hammer itself? That it may have been broken off before shipping or something. You are talking about the side spur that screws on. Are you using a scope? I had one of those things around here somewhere but found it of no value and pitched it or lost it somewhere.

BrentD, you have a valid point there. I'll keep that in mind when I call Wednesday about the missing hammer spur used with riflescopes.
