I think attention should be on the target. Like driving down the road. You watch where we are headed not concentrating on the front of the car. We usually follow where our eyes point us. With a small focus on target and a small wobble area things will come together in a good way. Watching the dot sometimes causes us to chase the dot around instead of making the dot coming to the intended point of aim.
