Paul,

I think the intent is to have fun and look good doing it. We can start a new class called the "Lords of the Bling"(LOB)

Metalhead really started all this when he started putting a high polish on his bottom metals....Chiken did have the most bling bling on his gun....With the colors and paint plus bling he's going to have to step it up....

In protest of the Bling Race I may have to carve a stock from a 2x4...

You guys are really giving me some wild ideas, I really almost pissed on my pants when I saw the spinning wheel.
Keep it up, you might still come up with something real good.
By the way I can do powder coating also, must every color.
Keep it up , I am having fun reading all the BS.

You guys have to do something about those BKL rings. Using those is like having stock rims on an irridescent black/purple lowrider truck. It just ruins the whole image...

Sorry, but those are Sports Match on mine. The will be powder coated before the start of next season. I did email BKL about anodized rings either blue or red and they said they were just sent to be anodized. Still cannot tell me when they will have the lower rings available.

Later, Paul

Nice rifle, John! Owning a rifle like that must be as sweet as having a new girlfriend.....Or hitting a turkey "dead center"..............

Thats more silhouette gun than I think I'll ever get my hands on. I'm still waiting for the checking done in flames down the length of the foreend....Throw a spinner in the scope flipup that doubles as a wind gauge......

jneihouse,
Is the oversized bolt knob on your rifle in the first post ok to use in the Huner class? I was thinking of changing my 1712 to one of the oversized knobs that Anschutz offers, but I was unsure if it was allowed to do on a Hunter class rifle?

Don't think that there is any restrictions on bolt knobs, unless you found a way to make one large enough that you could in some way gain extra support.......It does give a mechanical advantage to opening and closing the bolt, which on those rifles is a little tight.....

Jason,

It's the BKL's that make the guns affordable.....May have to make another trip out to metalhead's shop next spring at the cup and pick up a couple of sets. I had a set on both guns before the remodle, but they are too short with the Pharr stock's rollover cheekpiece.

I'm playing with different mount heights right now for exactly that reason. The new Pharr stock's cheekpiece is high enough that my normal low/med/high rings don't work and the extra high ones I had on another rifle where I used a chinweld more than a cheekweld are too high. I think I've just about got it perfect with the Burris Signature airgun/rimfire rings with the 20 minute insert in the rear ring, so I might measure them up and talk to Marv or Mark. :)

The BKL's are the perfect height for me, lets me get a lot of cheekpressure on the gun. I think I'm going to powdercoat the rings, just don't know what color yet.
