Two reasons for buying Anschutz. Trigger and barrel, best not alter either one. Save the weight somewear else.

Thank you everyone; I calibrated my scale against a known scale. I know know that can get the few ounces I need by replacing the steel rings with aluminum ones.

For what it's worth, I weighed a set of Burris Signature Zee rings this evening, with bases, at 4.7 ounces and compared them against a set of aluminum, one piece Talley's that weighed 2.3 ounces. Your mileage will vary, but it sure sounds like that .5 ounce is easily found.

Throw the butplate away and replace with a thin layer of 'flip-flop' bottom in any color you want.

Maybe if you invented some slimfast bullets™ your rifle would wigh less....

I like that idea but it I slim them down too much they might just bounce off of the animals!

That is a delicate balance!
