That is really a shame, now they are going to offer a 547 for $ 1000.00 and a six months wait, Why bother, I guess Anchutz, Kimber and ZC's is all the choice left.
I really don't understand the Rem. philosophy, they had a good thing going with the 540 and 541, about the time they started getting popular, they discontinue them also.
The way I look at it, they are running themselves out of business.

Consider it opportunity for you, Evelio. Remington actually has the 547 on a pamphlet download under "Premier Dealer Exclusives" and it's a yawn. Only the Shilen barrel seems of any real value, but a Lilja would do at least as well, so functionally a $500 504 and a $335 Lilja would you get you there in a week or so.

For what it's worth, Remington has been waiting a month for parts to fix 504 #2. So far it's funny (Remington ran out of barrels?!) but now school's starting and I won't have time to prep it until Spring break. If they miss that window my humor will wear thin.

You're right about Anschutz, CZ, and Kimber. Remington doesn't seem to care enough to play even though it has been their game to lose. I'll stick with my 504's for now, but long term, if they don't care I'm wasting energy.
