JB...I guess you and trent are into hip-hop, sex-ting, global warming, Barack Obama, ...all very "modern" and trendy.....you guys are just birds on a wire...one guy does ok with 6.5 then everybody has a 6.5....I'm waiting for the the guy that who goes big with the 7.7 Jap...Then I'd bet we'll be arguing about the superiority of the 7.7. Don't get me wrong....use what works for you...but 6.5....limited bullets and more limitations than some other choices...but that's OK....you guys are still my friends ;)

Like I said...Trent, you and JB are stylish,, very stylish and trendy.....oh wait...maybe you guys are Trenty

Nevertheless I don't think i 'd compare your 6.5 to a cell phone...then again they both fail to connect at times

I'm thinkin' about going back to 308...just to be more annoying

Nah Trent, I don't think he's calling McAlice, he calling Lapua trying to get some 7mm bullets, then after they basically tell him to get bent and start shooting a 6.5 like everyone else, then he's gonna call Bob and then there will be some tears in their beers!

JB....do you know what Lapua means in Swedish? It means "we can't count to 7"

In 1997 Remington introduced the 260 Remington as a factory load. Tony Lopez won Standard rifle with a 7-08 and me (Tony Tello) won the Hunting rifle with a 260 Remington. Can anybody name a shooter that has won another National title with anything other than a 6.5 since then?
Its possible Jose A Benabente (1998), Edgardo Ontiveros (2000) or Tony Lopez (2002) may have used 7-08s to win their standard class titles but other than those four times there is no contest. 6.5s are tops at Nats with 26 wins.

Snake, I'm just happier than a punk in a pen that they can go at least up to 6.5.
Tony, That was my first nats in 97, sorry you can't be here this time around.

Birds on a wire. So the idea is if i copy what a winner uses I might win? My first national was 1984...308 ruled then; then Margerite Everhart went to 7-08, and in 2007 I believe it was a 6.5 dasher or some such mouse case...telling me that becoming a groupie will improve my scores just doesn't seem reasonable.....Both the 7 and the 260 recoil about the same, barrel time differences are insignificant.....I have no reason to change...hero worshiping aside......I need more help with my shooting than a new round can fix. So why not 6.8 or 6 ...you know that was once the rage...remember the "chin" gun phenomena. ;)

Let's not ruin another thread with this silly debate. Let us get back to pokin fun at Snake and his cross-firing buddy McAlice.

OK Trent.....have it your way. Will a 5R keep mcAlice from cross-firing or help him with his RAM Ding?

Possibly. That combined with someone adjusting the windage on his scope about 2900 clicks to the right ought to keep him from cross-firing two complete bays over to the left.

Perhaps he's cross-eyed...or he was so busy trying to kick your butt....I did note that the guy on the left bank wasn't noticing a lot of extra hits.

But I shouldn't talk....I was shaking like a dog trying to pass a peach pit

Well this thread has gone really south, sorry Varn.
Shhhhhhh...you will wake up Beckley. Here it is 7:15 pm in Raton and he is already snoring tucked into bed.

I am up front at the Best Western, perhaps Ratons finest digs, messing with the internet. We just had a burrito dinner at the Sands

but walked over to Dairy Queen for ice cream.

This town is sadly lacking in decent food. We ate at K -Bobs for steak last night...again
We all shot plenty of practice today with really good conditions most of the day. I brought three extra guns to play with after checking my numbers with the two match guns. All said I fired 160 shots of 7-08 all day.

A bunch of us reset the entire range three times so we could knock over targets rather than fire on the swingers. We have 84 shooters registered for the match. Match starts at 8:30 am Thursday.
Ya know, Snake does look like a wrinkled up version of Michael Douglas.

You are a centerfire monster!! You are going to fire more shots this MONTH that a lot of hunters do their whole life!
Stop eating that bad food or you are going to tire yourself out running back and forth from the firing line to the crapper!
Good luck Bob!! Pass on my good luck wishes to Dave as well!
