^^isn't that the truth!Jerry G wrote:someone needs to drag the NRA compitition divison into the 21st century and then quickly yank them to 2012. They should be able to accept e-mails, attachments, and updates should take hours, not months.
i'd like to see them post the rankings of shooters doing the regular monthly sanctioned matches, nationally or regionally, either monthly or quarterly, along with online reporting of everything.
everytime i send in scores via emailing them, i get an email back stating they haven't received my scores or jury report. so i snail mail everything to them, and although postage isn't much, it's still an expense and 1 more thing to do, along with eating up printer ink and paper. 1 page with everything that has to be reported - jury report, grandslam, scores, etc. though there are much more things you can do online now as compared to just a few years back, it's still a bit inconsistant / incomplete, and confusing as everything is located in different areas of the site.
with talk of silhouette dying, surely it would be in the best interest of all to make it as easy and less complicated as one can to keep the heartbeat going.
maybe on the SB side of the house as there is no charge for sanctioning an event there's less motivation to do stuff.
i'm not a cyber guru, but i'm sure it's not that tough to set up an online reporting system, have the scores inputted by either NRA perssonel or by the match directors themselves into a system that's excel based, filter rifle division, shooter classification, and rank the shooter among others in their respective catagory, then post it online. it'll be one more reason to motivate those that don't participate in regional, state, or national comps to get a classification book and get classified - to see their name on a ranking list is a good ego boost to those that shoot.
otherwise, what's the point of reporting the scores in the first place, obviously they do knothing with them, and the classification system / books are only valid if someone competes at the regional / state / national level.
good to hear about the possible personnel changes over there, perhaps it'll help getting the NRA silhouette caught up to 2012

Re: Does the NRA post National Results?
I just got an NRA envelop two weeks ago asking for our once a month, September Tournament results....etc., which I had mailed to them back in October 21. AGAIN, I had to get out our results and scan plus both sides of check showing proof and e-mailed to the tournament dept. I also mailed. I have not heard back from them. This depart still has a lot to be desired! Under staffed or incompetent folk??
Today, I did receive our 2013 tournament approval dates along with a SEPARATE envelop approving our State Championship. Now, all I am waiting for are the Classification Score books. Maybe in 2013, they will be able to keep all submitted reporting under control?
