One further comment......bench rest, over course, and three gun (I wanna be Bruce Willis) competitions get all manner of give of give aways for their regionals or nationals. I mean to tell you...they get actions, barrels, triggers, scopes and powder and bullets are no big deal. So why are we left out?

Snake, I think, as most of us thought, that the solution was coming when we saw Jonathan Leighton come on board and take a bigger more active role. But as you know he was let go this fall, for what ever reason. IMHO, a VERY short sighted decision on the NRA's part as he was trying to move us forward into the current century and was always responsive to the shooters and at the same time trying to fight the politics within the organization.
Time will tell, but lets hope they smarten up soon with all the problems they are seeing and hearing about, Bob is just one of many of us that have run matches that know the 'issues' with trying to do the right thing.
Then again if the Liberals and the Senator from California get their way we will only have sling shots, and that will be till they take them too.

HaHa...I fiddle dicked with the title again to reflect my new attitude toward continuing to be a match director. 2013 got off to a rough start with me and the NRA but I am hopeful things will get better.

Shit, the precision tactical matches give away quite expensive complete rifles. There are a couple of the big matches that give away several complete high end rifles. Although, you gotta get out the checkbook to pay the entry fees to those matches. It has actually turned into quite a business. Guys are taking matches to a whole 'nother level and making a lot of money doing it.

Last time I shot Hunter Bench rest the entry fee was 35.00 for a regular match, BR-50 is 25.00. For monthly silhouette matches I prefer the 15.00 fee and ammunition as prizes, I do miss the special matches we used to have here in the summer like the "silver dollar match", only because I won one! Just kidding, those matches with a theme and special prizes are cool though, might have to talk the local match director into running one this summer, I think his name is Boner.

Snake, as an unemployed former government worker, yes there are folks out there that could handle Greg's job, the real question is does the NRA want to hire them? The answer to that is no, as they have a fantastic kingdom going in this non-profit money begging gig that they have, if you don't believe it research the budget and the salaries of some of the 'leaders' of the NRA.
As for Bob, I can understand your frustrations, and don't blame you for your attitude, and it is that squeaky wheel that may have gotten some attention from Dennis Willing, I've seen a bunch of talk but the actions haven't followed up the talk yet, entirely. Whether Dennis will ever be able to fully follow up the tasks that he has ahead of him or not, remains to be seen.

Mary, Be careful here.. JB is a little sensitive about any references to his 'main squeeze', Olga. If you get him upset he may not let Olga cook at the match Sunday. Nothing better after a match then soome good Russian cooking ;)
McAlice, all I can say is beautiful, you should be a politician

Mary...not matter the salaries etc...I'll worry about them AFTER I have them deal with the anti-firearms gov't agenda. Forgive me but no government worker former or current should ever ever comment about anyone's salary

Good one JB. We can count on you to tell it like it is. I wonder if the seven's (goo-roo) cheeks puffed out when the sunshine entered.
