Just picked up an Anschutz 8002 Target Rifle for practice and hopefully some air rifle matches to go along with my Air Arms.

I agree with Dustin. If you don't like that rifle then you need to seek professional help. I have had several target rifles and have used them for 10 meter and silo. I had a 2002 and it was the best silo rifle I ever had for any silo shooting. wasn't as good for 10 meter for some reason, but the 8002 is magnitudes better. I didn't think that was possible but it is and it works well for 10 meter shooting as well!
Better yet I bought the 8002 from CMP before the price went way up. It usually works the other way for me.

Love it so far... got it all adjusted and love the trigger on it, I loved my Styer AZ modified Air rifle too (used it for Field Target and Open class), but sold it before I moved west, still kick myself on that.

I only see the 8001 on the CMP website. Did you get it at the CMP?

Nice acquisition there Bob! I have a 2002 CA I picked up earlier this year. Where are the local air rifle matches held, either 10 meter or silhouette?

The Silhouette ones stopped before we moved here  , they were held at the Ben Avery Air Rifle building. Right now Rio is doing some shooting in their new building I hear, but I mostly use it for practice and with the Juniors I coach in 4P.

I did find the Phoenix airgun club website, and they shoot at Rio. Here is the calender for their club: http://www.phoenixairgun.net/calendar

I will try and plan on going to the one on the 19th.

$2,295 at Champions and the 8001's at the CMP $1,475-$1,675 depending on which one you get. Just shop around for the best prices and look at used ones too.

Thanks! I definitely do not mind a bargain used one. Hopefully, I can find a couple of them...

Alas guys. CMP does not offer the 8002 anymore. I got mine a while ago. Now they offer the 8001 which looks pretty good too.
