Cowboy Legal Single shot?

Single shot conundrum......
I have a club member with a question. I wish I had a solid answer.
He has a rolling block single shot .22 rimfire .
He wants to know if its o.k. for Cowboy Smallbore? Its a rolling block so its a Single Shot.
I think the vintage is 1895? I Could be wrong.

When I read the rules, it says "tubular magazine fed". So by this it would be no single shots.
I will certainly let him shoot.
But will he be stuck in a non-NRA club only class?

Does it get more "cowboy" than a rolling block?

Thank you for your help.

The rules list only 3 rifles that is legal. Lever, pump or semiautomatic that is tube fed.
That would be a great rifle for 22bpcr match.

If I ran the match, I would let him shoot, especially if it's his only cowboy type rifle. I wouldn't let him in a state match tho.

Give him a copy of the rules and let him shoot with the understanding he wins nothing and the score won't be put in the book. It won't take him long to find a legal 22. About $160.00 bucks i think at wally world.

Yup. He is going to have to use a mag. Fed for NRA SB Cowboy. He's cool with that. Just use the rollingblock for "cool factor" Club class.

No matter what I would never refuse a new shooter. That is the point of a catch all Club Class.
I do offer up a prize for Club class so its not for nothing.

I push hard for more folks to migrate into official NRA classes whenever possible.

I just ask around for opinions so I dont act like a " rulebook jerk" in my role of Match miester.
I want all Silhouette shoots to be a stupidly happy experience.

Around here my matches and other that run the Cowboy matches. We have all setup a separate "Non" NRA Class for single shots. You could say it was for the cool factor. these guns only complete against guns of like type.
