Since traditionally Championship matches are 120 rounds, would there be a downside to having two 60s rather than three 40s for High Power and Smallbore? Seems like a better use of time to me.

Just thinking out loud.

Barrel life due to extra barrel heat, fatigue from being pounded by recoil and just physical fatigue from altitude and being on the line for 20 extra rounds each day. Many competitors are seniors and you do want to cause them health problems. Also not fair to future competitors attempting to set new national records under a more grueling format.

I dont think shooting 2 60 shot matches a day for HP is a very good idea for a Nationals. By the end of each day you have fired the equivalent of a extra 40 shot match in one day. That is just to much with the HP guns.

60 shot HP match realty sucks. I don't even like 60 shot SB matches.
