Joy Cox

Post by Joaquin B »

It is with great sadness that I communicate the unexpected passing of fellow silhouette shooter Joy Cox last Tuesday evening.

Joy was a good friend and served as President of the Hassayampa Rod and Gun Club in Phoenix for a few years.

I had the pleasure of her serving as my spotter during the 2003 Nationals at Ridgway and she took it upon herself to teach my oldest daughter the fundamentals of proper rifle shooting in the standing position, as well as coaching her in metallic silhouette shooting.

She is missed by many in the silhouette shooting community.

Rest In Peace, Joy, and thank you for being a wonderful person.

At the PeEll match this past April, I shot next to Joy both days. It's hard to believe she is gone. She was a very pleasant person to be around, and i really liked her. She was active in the Hassyampa Silhouette club in Phoenix and served as president for a few years. We are greatly diminished with her passing.
