Leupold FX-III 25X40

I have a chance to buy a Leupold FX-III 25X40 and wanted to know if there are any issues with the older FX-III compared to the newer FX-3 and what the value of the scope is. Scope looks in very good condition and is mounted on a rifle right now. Thanks Greg

Kind of depends if it has the reticle and adjustments you want. Leupold isn't doing reticle changes now-a-days so of it doesn't have the reticle you are looking for then it will cost another $150 or so.
My guess of value would be between $400 and $600 if it's the one you want, but that's just based on similar recent sales.
I'm not aware of any inherent problems with the FX-III versus the FX-3.
