Skinner on a Frontier

Has anybody put a Skinner peep on their Henry Frontier?
I'm looking at the model that attaches to the two existing screw holes located under the factory buckhorn sight.
I'll probably need a new front sight as well. Do you prefer a blade or bead?

I have but changed it to a tang sight for the greater sight radius. You shouldn't need to change the front sight height with the Skinner on the barrel. If anything, a smaller 1/16" bead to replace the factory 3/32" bead. A Skinner on the receiver cover usually needs a taller front sight.

Parts are on the way! The folks at Skinner talked me into a much taller front sight, so we will see. If it's too tall I'll end up buying a Skinner blade that I can file down as needed.

Got the Skinner sights installed and made a trip to the range. Turns out that Sporty was right on the money...the taller front sight was way too high. I've ordered another front sight that is the factory height but has the 1/16" bead. The rear peep did tighten up my groups.
All in all this will be a good move.

Hey H. Plumber-Where did you get your final front sight? I like an open bead, but the factory Henry is too large for close up.

Thanks
chuck

ChuckD,
I ordered it from Skinner. They sell the Marbles gold bead front sights. $18
