NRA National Match Schedule
Concern - When you log onto the NRA competitor portal there are links to National Match entries, NO Silhouette. If you enter the main web page and find the National Match schedule, then the link to register brings you back to your competitor log in page where you will find no National Match entry for Silhouette.
If you regularly attend Silhouette National Matches you know to search other places like Steelchickens and NASSA but that’s only helpful to people in that circle of knowledge. Shouldn’t the NRA web page and Competitors Portal list the Silhouette National Matches and at a minimum direct someone how and with whom to register? This sure seems to have the potential to make people believe Silhouette National Matches are no longer held.
Am I missing something? Wouldn’t be the first time.
Is there someone with a good working relationship with the appropriate NRA staff to address the issue?

No, you didn't miss anything.
The NRA doesn't care about Silhouette other than taking $15 from as many of us as they can every year.

Isn’t that what Coming Events is supposed to be in Shooting Sports USA.
GOOD LUCK with that!
GOOD LUCK with that!

Re: NRA National Match Schedule
Shooting Sports USA is very supportive of Silhouette. I have written many silhouette stories for SSUSA and all have been published. They want silhouette stories and information, however they need people to send them the information. If you want something in the coming events, then I encourage you to send them an email, they are more than happy to publish it!

Re: NRA National Match Schedule
I paid the $15 last year to access the nra portal and they have my classifications wrong, and I have no idea how to get it corrected. Doubt it's worth it for me to keep paying.
If I ever shoot at a match that requires proof of my classification, I guess I'll be shooting AAA because I can't prove otherwise. Seems ridiculous to depend on an organization that doesn't support the sport beyond collecting an annual fee. Good grief, NRA members should get free access to the portal anyway!
That's my rant. I've only been in this game for a year and I'm really only in it for the fun so it's not much skin off my nose anyway, still....

Reply to H. Plummer.
Many Match Directors will accept scores from a local match or even a written statement from another match director as proof of class.
The only exception would likely be a Nationals. Locked into the current mess.
Just include a contact for the match director who vouches for you.
Also pre-registering for events gives us match runners time to sort it all out.

Yes this system sucks.
And will continue to suck as long as the majority sits down and takes it.
Yes I have an alternative. As soon as enough people get fed up all I need to do is flip the switch. Building it for ten years.
More than ready to go.
But that is up to the shooters.
A lot of you have allready seen some of what I have ready to go.
So when you all are really ready let me know.
When you get tired of big talk and no action.

Not sure what the "switch" does, but I say flip that puppy. I'm curious enough and besides how can it not be better than our current condition.
I still view the NRA as very necessary, to handle the constant stream of communist litigation against our rights, but maybe not so necessary to continue holding the reigns of silhouette.

Re: NRA National Match Schedule
It may not be better. Who knows? But I am willing to try.
NRA should keep doing thier thing.
Nothing wrong with a backup system.
-I will take scores for non-NRA matches. I know a few around my area. (Mid south).
-I will take scores for non-NRA members.
Another possible plus is everyone can give me input and I can try to create a better system.
On that please remember the following:
-1. I am volunteering.
-2. I need to keep costs both time and money down. (Time will be a factor)
-3. I am a stubborn person. So make the same suggestions on improvements multiple times. Eventually I might implement them.
The main two objectives are:
-Ease of use.
-Inclusion
More players makes for a better game.
Been kinda busy last few days but the test site is up. Some people have found it.
More soon. Hopefully today.
And thank you to the Match Directors who jumped on as early adopters.
This will allow for a great systems check.

Exactly right. They have thier hands full and enough to do.
Under attack from all sides.
I think stretching the resouces is all part of the Nefarious plan.

Go to "Score Entry Form"
"Score Keeping" shows data after submission.
Just incase you want to try it. Submit some scores.
I know it is super simple. Some day I will make it look real pretty like.
For now simple functionality.
