Wow, nice one, George. Lots better than any I've ever put on the ground. Hopefully there's no damage to the hide on the neck that the taxidermist can't cover up. Next time you shoot a good one, don't shoot him where it will show on the mount.

Rgr that... he came in dead down wind and busted me at 12 yards.. took off, slowed down in a thicket... Found the neck in the scope, was the only shot on my best deer to date... Would take it again... Haha
By the way, Taxidermist get paid well to fix that type of thing! LOL

Yeah, we are really weird here in the south I guess... We go ahead and count up all the points... LOL
Now, when I hear 5x5 or 6x7 , I think Elk and that method does give you quite a bit more info, but 5 point? What is that logic based upon? What if a deer is a 'typical' 8 point on one side and has 7 points on the other, is he a 4 point, or a 7 point? Would be a really large '4 point' or a really small '7 point' .... I would think he's a 11 point...

Chicken George, 8 points on one side and 7 on the other? How about calling it a 7.5 or 15 point...? I am just pulling your leg.
