Swingers

Post by #57 »

I made a set of swingers for smallbore practice out of 1/4" and Im pretty happy with them. I want to make a set for cowboy also but Im not shure how thick to make them. Im thinking Id want a set of 1/2 size that Id also use to practice with the 30 30 at shorter distances. question is how thick to hold up to a 30 30? #57

I've made a few sets and half inch stands up fairly well to my 30 30

does the 30 30 leave a lot of pock marks or is that a thing for higher powered rifles? right now Im shooting jacketed bullits but could easily switch to cast lead. #57

it depends on what you make the swingers out of I use bissaloy 360 plate for the chickens and pigs which takes a hammering without damage but if you use mild steel plate i'd be inclined to use lead on them for the short ranges
