Jared Perry suffered heart attack

Post by lone ringer »

Hello everyone, I just received this message from Dennis Dadian.
For those that do not know Jared Perry, he is one of the best rifle silhouette shooters California has ever had.
Tony Tello
Jared suffered a serious heart attack last night while working in the
mountains east of Fresno. He probably has a certain amount of heart muscle
damage but exactly how much is not known yet. He is in the ICU at Clovis
Community Hospital but they will be moving him to a regular hospital room
soon. I saw him this morning and he is awake and alert. His family has
rallied around him so he has lots of support but he could use everyone's
thoughts and prayers.?????

I'll try to keep you all informed of his progress.?????
Dennis?

Sorry to hear about this happening. I don't know Jared but have read about his shooting several times. Hopefully he will make a solid recovery and not have suffered to much damage to his heart. When I first read this I thought damn he can't be all that old either.

I am 38 and just had Triple Bypass in January of this year. I am tall and not over weight and I eat right for the most part lots of fish and grilled foods, layed off the fried food years ago as much as possible on S. La.

I would recommend anyone with any family history of heart disease no matter what your age to go get checked out and have a stress test done at least. I was literally on the verge of a heart attack at any moment with the blockages I had yet I had ZERO symptoms. Luckily I was able to get my plumbing rerouted before having one and damaging my heart permanently. Everyone I know that has had bypass had no symptoms either. My mother in law is a Cardiology Nurse of 35 years and had she not been I likely never would have gotten checked so young even though my dad died at 62 and my uncle at 45 from heart attacks.

If your genetics predispose you to cardio issues it is never to early to get tested. I feel lucky to be the guy that everyone says wow to about having triple bypass at 38 instead of the guy people say wow about that was so young and seemingly fit dying at work from a massive heart attack. The surgery isn't as bad as I would have thought it would be and while I am still not 100% back and better than before I was shooting again a mere 3 weeks after leaving the hospital.

Best wishes to Jared and his family for a speedy and great recovery, I know it had to come as a shock.

Wow, this is definitely a shocker. With how much most of us sit around and do nothing at work, I would have expected this from pretty much anyone else before Jared. Is there anything else can we do? Any group efforts to take care of his house/pets/etc. while he’s in the hospital? Even those of us a couple states or more away could contribute some funds to that through PayPal or something hopefully. Even if it's just enough to get some meals for loved ones to keep them from having to cook while they take care of him, it might be helpful. We'd need someone down there to organize it, though.

 I got the news today and Jared is in my thoughts and prayers. I've had to the chance to meet Jared and he is the most down to earth nicest guy you would want to meet, a absolute great shooter ( who else can shoot a 40 three consecutive times) a great competitor, man I hope you get better Jared.

Just got this message from Ernie K.

I phoned the hospital last evening while Clark and Weems were here and spoke with Jared. Told him that, if he got some exercise, lost some weight and trimmed down like me, he wouldn't have these problems! lol
Anyway, he seemed in good spirits and, pending the results of another EKG, was hoping to go home in a couple of days. He says that he had 100% blockage of one artery and they installed a stent.
I told him we'd all keep him in our prayers.
