Mil-dot?

Post by BryanBaxter »

What type of reticle do you prefer? i have very little experience shooting with glass. I am an iron sight shooter use to making sight adjustments. I assume that Mil-Dot is designed for a hold off (Kentucky Windage).

Thin crosshair with a dot is my preference. I've also used what Leupold called a "Leupold Dot" at the time that had normal crosshairs tapering gradually to fine crosshairs and a dot at the center. It was fine, but I still prefer just the dot. I prefer my dot size to be about 3/8 minute but my 1/2 minute dot Weaver T24 scopes are doing well for me.

I prefer a 1/2 dot to focus on. The mildot is cool for prone or sitting, but too busy for me in the world of off hand. A good start would be a duplex or single dot in 6-20 power. I really like 24X.
