This will be my first time at the NRA small bore silhouette nationals; what should I be aware of?
I have a list of stuff to bring like rifle, ammo, shade structure, chair, cooler with water, ect.
I have room reservations already.
Anything I should be aware of when I get to NRA Whittington?

David,
Judging by your name I guess that you live near ABQ so you should be aware of the possiblity of fast changing weather at Whittington. Bring something to cover your rifle in the event of a rain/hail storm (plastic garbage bag works)
a way to get fluids, (water etc.) food can be purchased, or bring you own, don't forget your score book, you will need that to get your NRA packet. Yourself, ammo, rifle and anything else that you want. Remember there is a Kmart, Family Dollar and grocery about 5 miles away so you can always pick up anything really needed.
See you next week!
Mary

David... next advice is, if you haven't already gathered from the lever gun Nationals sections, Mary is NOT Innocent

TWOBOB....the man that gave peajay an OZ hat was a tall man named Mark ( I seem to recall her husbands name was Mark and he was certainly taller than me), and I only informed her where a person named Tim had put the hat. Now figure out which Tim!!!

Thanks Mary and Bob. You are correct Innocent, I am located in Albuquerque and we are experiencing the typical monsoon season right now.
I had not considered something to keep the rifle dry while it is up on the line. Thanks.

Gun, Ammo, NRA book. You can buy anything else that you have forgotten in town.
Bob, you are right about that old woman from FL. She wasn't innocent 50 years ago, let alone now.

But...... she ain't badddddd.

Let's see Mary. Coats must be around 20 so you could still be under 40. Someone feel free to jump in and check my math. I'v been retired now for a few years and I lost my calculator. The damn thing wasn't all that good to begain with.

Jerry, Coates turns 22 on the 9th of Aug, and I was a wee tyke when he was born!!! NOT. But then if you would travel east of the Mississippi to shoot once in a while you might even find out just how old I am.

Mary, you were old the first time I saw you at the Nationals in NE. I think that was 1990.

This will be my first time to the Nationals also.
One of the guys I shoot with said bring a chair because there will be a lot of sitting, I had not thought of that.
So I will make sure to bring one along, Also bringing my Nephew along so that he can carry stuff for me.
I had not thought of something to cover the rifle in case of bad weather, it has been so dry here in Denver with a rain storm once in a while.
Being so close to Raton I figure if I forget some of the smaller things I can buy it there if I need it.

Mike and David,
Chairs are good, they do have benches to sit on there also. The storms that come through Raton are sometimes fast and heavy rain/hail so just be prepared.
Yes there are some stores for those little things that make life easier. Bringing a gun bearer is always great!
