I am following this thread with interest since the Whittington Center is near to me. I would love to shoot in next year's nationals.

I just got a confirmation email from Barry Ranney (NRA's sil guy I guess). He says the smallbore is July 14-16 and high power is July 18-20. I'm considering this gospel and planning my vacation now. Hope things don't change as my wife generally has to plan at least 6 months out. See you there!

Just wanted to let everyone know the Whittington Center seems to have updated its calendar now. This event(and many more) are now listed on their website. http://www.nrawc.org/schedule/index.html

They actually list smallbore as being 13-16th with the 13th being a practice day.

That's a departure from what has been the norm the past several years. Typically we shoot Smallbore on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday with Wednesday being an offday/highpower sight in day and shoot highpower on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, leaving Sunday as a travel home day.

Yeah looks like SB is sun,mon,tues,wed and HP is now thursday, fri, sat and sun. Less travel time to get home this year.

Time to book ye old microtel. Woo hoo.

I'm thinking of just pulling a camper onto the grounds. Does anyone else do this or is it a bad idea?

OldRanger, Good camping facilities at Raton, or the competitor housing is good if you can get in.
