Parts option that make Hunter weight rifle
Put a new barrel on a rifle and thought it may be helpful to provide a list of what made weight. Could save someone a whoops, not hard adding weight but loosing weight can be a pain, even with a rifle.
Wooster stock
Remington 600 action
PVA 26” light Palma barrel (no flutes), affixed with steel New England Firearms barrel nut.
Luepold FX -III 25x
Warren steel bases
A set of Weaver rings I had on hand - base is aluminum and ring band is steel.
Weight is 8lb 12oz with sun shade and turret caps on.
This is the second time I have used a light Palma contour barrel with good weight and balance results. If you don’t like a barrel heavy balance this won’t be your recipe.
