Keystone Classic at Ridgway

Post by HR41mag »

Despite some tough conditions, there were some pretty good scores posted at Ridgway last weekend during the Keystone Classic. Congratulations to Matt Pavlik for 40/40 in Lever Action Rifle, 57/60 in Smallbore Lever Action, and overall match winner. Congratulations to Bret Adams for winning Pistol Cartridge Lever Action, and a big thank you to everyone who help run the match and target setters.

OK, let's ask the question another way.

What is the "Open" class with respect to a shooters Classification, as per Rule 19?

The result sheet(s) show Open, Master, UNCLASSIFIED, AAA, AA, A, and B.

My interpretation of the rule book is that those "Open" class shooters presented themselves without a classification, in which case they should have been "Unclassified", and as a result of that match will now (for future matches) have a classification (19.16).

Perhaps somebody will be good enough to point us in the right direction as to where in the rule book this "open class" exists?

O is the overall match winners 1st, 2nd and 3rd regardless of classification.
Then the masters, AAA, AA, A and B

Which makes absolutely no sense.
They do have a classification - why not show it? There is a column for that annotation, just as there is a column for their placing in the match.
There is no "open class".

Matt’s scores are remarkable and an example of fine marksmanship in any event.
