striker spring for 1712 worth it?

I'm putting together an order for action screws on the 1712 and some cz's.
For offhand shooting, namely steelchickens, is this worth it or just
something that we tend to take on face value? Is this about lock
time being faster?

I've never replaced the firing pin springs, so this one man's opinion based on what I've read over the years. From what I've read on BenchrestCentral, RFC, and here replacing springs seems to be more about consistent ignition, which is a determining factor in rimfire accuracy.

Firing pin springs do loose their strength and eventualy quit working. The springs are cheep from wolfsprings. Cost more to ship the damn things unless you buy a whole hand full. Be aware that the 1712 with the rabbit ear safety takes a different spring than the newer type with the side safety. The are real easy to change.

jerry, good to remember that Wolf is another source for springs, besides J&P.
Most important, perhaps a new firing pin for a 1712 makes more sense if the rifle
has signficant age.

At this point, I'm still interested in allen head action screws for the 1712
and for two cz452's. Ten ring might help with the 1712. Any other source
for action screws for both rifles?

I know that DP products does action screws, have put them on both of my kids CZs. I also plan to put some on my 1712 soon.

I have not heard of a firing pin go bad if the rifle is not dry-fired much on an empty chamber. If it is a problem, please feel free to correct me on that subject. I have however seen spring problems. Once again, the springs are cheep so replacing them every couple years is a good way to avoid that problem during a match. Not having the gun go bang every time can be frustrating.
