What will make you quit hunting, if you don't have private land to go on, is only to walk into a Walmart or place that sells the hunting lic and see who is getting them  .... Now thats enough to make you quit hunting

What really gets me is the "yep this baby shoots totally flat all the way out to 500 yrds. It'll shoot em all into one hole." I have taken several to the range and sight their rifle in to hit at 100yrds. Then take them to 300 and watch them in disbelief as their 7mag. drops to the bottom of the page. Educate them one at a time. Our only prayer!

We had a guy come in with a .50 cal hand gun, SS, with scope yesterday morning. The scope was boresighted previously and was still okay when we checked. Someone asked how much a round was.......$3.50 he replied. Many come in with their lever action and wonder what is wrong as hard to operate or never stored properly. Most don't even get a shot off other than at sight-in and then goes back in storage till next season. We had another guy come in with a vintage .22 rifle yesterday and he new it might be a little rusty. Do you think he would have bothered to clean it before coming to the range.....NO. We cleaned it for him as good ambassadors we are and took his $5.00 fee before he walked the short distance to the range. I was only at the range for an hour just to see a couple friends that were getting their work hours in. Our range officers do a really fine job with these off the street people. Most of them are instructors.

Don't get me wrong, we do have members that come out only twice a year and would not want to be around them. There is always some character trying to help son/daughter/family member or friend with no eye wear protection for them.
