I will, I went the BSEV route with a EFR. Just came back today from running 200 rounds through it. From the bench it just makes one hole,5 rounds or ten, the hole just gets a little bigger...around 50 rounds I got bored and shot a smilyface.,it's not that hard, mouth is a little hard to do. Shooting with a scope is odd, it's going to take time to get used to it. Dialed it back to 8 and then up to 12x for off hand, that's about max for me right now. I can keep everything in the black and bull off hand, but I only had 25yrds in the range. Long way to go...but it rocks. Wooster make some high mounts at legal maximum for my long neck, Glad I took your advice and went with him, he knows his stuff, plus a nice guy to boot.

I have one of those Boyd's stocks (forgot the actual name of the model), that I inletted for a Biathlon Basic action. If you plan to use it for any "big time" silhouette matches, there are a couple of dimensions that you might want to check first. I don't know if the Savage will have the same issues, however, as the geometry of the Biathlon action is a little funny.

The first was that the drop from the C/L of the barrel to the bottom of the forearm was outside of the Silhouette rules. I don't have my rulebook handy, but I seem to remember that 2.25" is the maximum allowable. The second was that there was not enough wood forward of the barrel/reciever junction. I think that the forend must extend at least 8" in front of the barrel/reciever interface. For my Biathlon action, there was less than 8" of forend.

Anyway, your rifle looks great, and those stocks really work well for offhand shooting.

I figured it might be out of spec, there's a left hand Mark II stock that would do it, if I had to. I think a shoot in the nationals is a little ways off for me. But let me know if you find more spec's.

The stock I bought was a factory second, unfinished, uninletted model. The depth of the forend could have been modified by removing some material from the bottom surface to get it into specs. I ended up milling the bottom flat and fitting a piece of aluminum channel over the forend. I'll post some pics, but it certainly won't fit with everyone's tastes.

I would guess that yours might be a little too deep also, but it would be a shame to mess up the finish.

As far as the length of the forend, yours may be OK. The Biathlon action is very long, so the barrel / receiver junction is probably more forward in the stock as compared to your rifle.

Hi Steve,
yeah post your mods, it's a comp gun so I'm not worried about cutting into it, plus I know wood working so I can do just about anything in wood.
Could you send me or direct me to these more exact measurment rules? I can only find the rule book that talks in general terms, maybe I missed it.
