Snake, this was not your average garage sale selling kids toys, clothing , dishes and all that other useless crap. No sir, this was a sell off of a true sportsman's life long possessions. I got a personal invite to the sale, one of a dozen guys, to split up the goods. This guy was 76 and mostly into shotguns and handguns but there was some decent rifle stuff, too. All his guns got put on consignment at a local gun shop so no guns to look at. But plenty of loading components, tools...you name it. I did come home with this beauty. An RCBS A2 all steel press from the early 50's. It was a little rusty and in need of paint but otherwise tight. I got it for the princely sum of....$15.00 8) I took it apart for a thorough cleaning, bead blasted it and got it powder coated in the only green we had. I removed my old Herters Rifleman press and bolted this on the bench to keep the Redding Ultra Mag press company.Image

Jerry, at least my Daddy got me started using a real press. You on the other hand are so old you probably got started using the Lyman 310 nutcracker tool. Hey ...shouldn't you be on the road to Lander by now? You old farts drive them big RV's real slow. Or are you driving the chick picker upper again? See you there, Buddy. :D

McAlice, I thought that was you picking up those in Denver who had rental cars breaking down, not Jerry in sportscars.

I drive the little black car real slow. I may make it by Friday sometime, maybe.

My first press was a Lyman but it was one of thoes cast iron C presses. I do have a couple of "World Famous Herters dies." I thought it was Lee that made the 'nut cracker'.

Yard sales/Garage sales rock! My younger friends think I'm kidding when I tell them every friday is dedicated to driving my wife from sale to sale. I found an RCBS junior press at a sale for 50 cents. It was rusted, but after some oil and work it reloads great. I also found 68 new carbon Gold tip arrows that I bought for 50 cents each. I think hubby had moved out and the wife was selling guy stuff Cheap!!! Think of yard sales as the ultimate form of recycling!

Got this old heavy Pacific press for five bucks and gave it the same beauty treatment as the A2. Will teach my grand sons to load with it someday ...if I ever have any.
