Jason, actually a 17025 sticker should be visible to the operator....so when does the operator look at the back of the instrument?
McAlice, yes a NIST traceable cert with uncertainty costs more (considerably more) so is the gauge really worth the money or is the calibrated weight set
more reasonable? And no I am not having a bad day, in fact it has been a rather good weekend for calibrations, actually been outside working, so now that I am not a "professional" but also not an flunky so I can not earn comp or overtime I have to take off during the week to make up for the weekend working.
So JB, time for you to weigh in on this conversation and get the direction sliding sideways down the levee.

OK, somebody has to tell this so it might just as well be me.

There is the old story of the engineer who never made a mistake or was wrong...and told people so with great regularity. And then one morning a machinist walks into his office and deposits a pile of metal shavings on his desk whereupon the engineer asks what the heck he is up to. The machinist replied those are your 1/2 inch holes in 3/8 inch stock.

Engineers make "changes" ;) ie. ECO or Rev "change".....Machinists make mistakes ie. "scrap" thanks to engineer "changes"
