Does the NRA post National Results?

Here's a thought...the NRA could post a downloadable PDF of the results on the website and let you print your own, if so inclined, thereby saving money, the thing the NRA likes least to spend on shooting sports.

Rick, you are too logical, and we have to get Greg Conner to use a computer before we even worry about a PDF.

RBriscoe, your idea would work if the NRA compitition division wasn't still in the late 1800s.

Afraid it is what it is. I shoot different disciplines under several sanctioning bodies and none are perfect. I like fair consistent rules & fast match results. Something that's not often found One local match under rules other than NRA, Match director has never sent out results. Not once.

You would think NRA could come up with something more up to date. Not waiting for it to happen.

Guys and Gals,

One name, Jonathan Leighton, remember that name. He is the NRA's 21st Century match director currently running the BPCR Target Rifle Matches at Raton. Final scores were posted well within 1 hour of the end of each day's match. Award ceremonies were so well and swiftly executed none of us fell asleep. We were given tumb-drives with the results on them at the end of competition. We don't do paper results any more.

For HP and SB Silhouette competitors' sake, make some sounds directed at Denny, the new directory of NRA competitive shooting. Tell him you want National Championships run the way Jonathan Leighton runs the BPCR Target Rifle Matches. Oh, and our prize table blew all of us away.

Checkout our daily coverage, at the link below, during the match to see what Jonathan and his crew can do for you once the fossil is put out to pasture. Jonathan's matches are the best run matches I've ever attended at Raton, after 15 years of shooting 6 different disciplines up there. He was parachuted into Raton to run the BPCR Target Rifle Matches about 5 years ago with no tactical support to speak of and ZERO mentoring from the NRA. Several of us took an instant shine to the new guy and spent countless hours feeding and fueling him at founders' cabins during the evenings. Jonathan has a "can do" spirit that does not quit (ex-Marine;) and, he is personable and listens to the shooters, especially the ones he comes to know have the best interests of the shooting sports at heart and know of what they speak.

He looks and sounds like the guy for the job, on his laptop and smartphone in the back of his van working, probably a fantasy to get him though, GC isn't the quitting type.

If my memory serves me well, and what I remember hearing is true, Jonathan was hired to eventually take GC's job. Get on the phone, send emails, talk about how the transition can happen sooner rather than later. But, most of all, be polite with the best interests of the shooting sports first and foremost at heart. We BPCR Target Rifle shooters think we have died and gone to shooting heaven. We had the best run match ever and the new director actually shot the long-range, two-day match with us. Of course one of our stalwart gunsmiths, owner of Baldwin Sights, top marksman and all-a-round nice guy, Steve Baldwin, loaded Denny's ammo and loaned him a match rifle. One of the local match directors, Hugh Wilson, who runs the line at the NRA BPCR Silhouette National Championships held at the Whittington Center, was his coach. You's guys and gals might consider doing the same next year. We old guys/gals might be slow, but we are crafty.

FYI we have dealt with Jonathan for several years in smallbore and HP as Greg's backup, and have been asking for the change in writing to now the third director of competitions for the NRA, both in writing and in person at the conventions. I might comment that I did get an email back from the most current director, last Friday, informing me that he will show my letter to Greg, and discuss it with him. I kept it polite, to the point and about three different situations in three different matches with in the last 4 months, all direct result of poor judgment and behavior on Gregs part.

Good luck, keep writing and informing maybe it will get somewhere eventually.

It is now over EIGHT weeks since the conclusion of the CLA Nationals and still nothing. It is 12 days since Dennis Willing said it would be a "day or two" before the results should be available and nothing.

Don't remember what year it was but as I recall it was the next spring when I got the results.......hey there still on schedule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the record Greg Connor has always been nice to me and helped our club match out more than one time. However Look at the rule book. Appendex B part 7-11

11. Final Results Bulletin: A copy of the official FINAL RESULTS
BULLETIN must be sent to each competitor participating in the tournament
within 30 days.

The Results from the Lever Action, High Power, Smallbore, and BPCR Silhouette Nationals have now been posted at the NRA website http://www.nrahq.org/compete/champ4.asp. It is my understanding that the printed results booklet at least for the Lever Action should be mailed out sometime next week.

I spoke to Greg Connor yesterday and said he would get the IT Department to post the results on the website ASAP and he did. Thanks Greg.

I took a look at how I did at Nationals and I did better than I would have thought prior to attending.

Not great but not in last place either.

I am happy with my results.

I hear you David,

For my first nationals, I did not do bad but not as good as I had hoped to. I keep at it trying to get better each time i shoot and hopefully learning from my mistakes.
It sure was a lot of fun even though I did not have good scores the first couple of days.
