Hopefully the action and trigger haven't been molested beyond what some minor counseling from a competent gunsmith won't cure. I wish the buyer all good luck because he's a fellow silhouette shooter.

Throw a lightweight high quality scope on it and hit the woods and kill some squirrels in style. There is a high bidder, and the name of the bidder is quite familiar. Maybe he'll bring it to Pe Ell this year so that I can play with it!
I seen a nice Mossberg today at Gunsmoke, I could buy it and chop it up if your interested, probably could get it for 350.00.
Gunsmoke can suck a bag of d... well, nevermind.

Mossberg already made a couple of rifles kind of like this. The 142a and the 152. I have one of each. Both are wicked accurate squirrel guns and very handy with the short barrels.

Hey, that semi-auto 152 is an assault rifle with the fold down forward grip AND a detachable magazine! It's pre-ban.

Spray paint it black and you might get a grand for it at the gunshow with the right spiel.

I've been trying to buy 410 ammo all week, THERE IS HARDLY ANY AMMUNITION ANYWHERE!!! Ammo that has never been chambered in a black gun seems to mostly gone as well, why?

Didn't realize there was talk of banning skeet and rabbit hunting {410 ammo}.

Kevin, maybe it is all the yahoos that shoot the Saiga in 410 that are buying it up.

It's possible but you wouldn't think there's that many of those out there, I don't know a single person that has one.

Well Mike won the 1712. I probably would have bid on it, as I have a 1712 takeoff barrel lying around looking for a home, if he hadn't been the high bidder. My 12-year-old daughter would have loved that thing. :)

Right on, I think he got a great deal.

It's destination is that of my youngest, a 12 year old. Once his strength is up in a year or two, we'll re-barrel and get it in a proper silhouette stock.

Stay tuned for accuracy testing.

Glad you got it, the accuracy testing should be very interesting, target ammunition may go supersonic in that short of a barrel. As far as the barrel having the choke cut off it will be interesting to see if really makes that much difference. Hope it turns out well, Kb
