The Last Party, The last Dance, The Greatest Show on Earth. Some things come and go and are forgotten but other things will be remembered Always. David and Jerry gave a lot of time to give us a few hours enjoyment. We have been blessed.
Thank You Gentlemen

I hope Jerry gets out before next year. His gumbo is the best!! At the very least maybe his attorney Mr. Flint, can arrange a weekend release in his custody. Could be a flight risk though,if Mason shows up.
Stay Safe

Chad,

Jerry and I thank you for the kind words. I have met the best people in the world in Winnsboro by being fortunate enough to belong to a gun club and community that is 100% behind you. We started out in 1991 by trying to run a match as if we were the competitors in the match. We asked untold numbers of competitors that had been in the sport since its beginning what we needed to do. We listened to all advice and comments whether good or bad and did not take anything personally. Our greatest assets were our wives that allowed us to spend the time putting this event on. The reason that Jerry and I got the accolades is that we had Robin Ulmer and may great members of Winnsboro Gun Club doing the hard work at the matches while we made sure everyone had a good time and putting out fires. Jerry and I would sit in his store each morning about a week or so after the match and ask each other how we could improve on the match from the previous year. Unfortunately we ran out of ideas and the desire to continue this last year.

I will tell you that it was a very emotional decision as we truly met some of the best people in the world each year and we will definitely miss seeing them. Many long-time participants would schedule their vacations around our match and that is a testament as to how they were treated at Winnsboro Gun Club. I know that many competitors during the last 24 years did not agree with how we ran the match and all the nonsense that went on and I am sorry if they did not have a good time; however, I think that everyone needs to stop and smell the roses somewhere along the line and not take this sport too seriously. It is not good for you personal well being to stress out so much about a competition that we made fun. We at least tried to keep it honest by disqualifying several cheaters during our tenure for the benefit of the 99 44/100% honest shooters in this sport. If we called you a sandbagger out loud you can rest assured it was good old fashioned bullshit. If you cannot take it, do not dish it out!

Thanks again for all the great memories and participating in our matches. We could not have done it without the support of the shooters and their attendance each year. The accolades need to go tho the hundreds that attended our match and then passed the word on!

Hope to see some of you if I can convince Jerry to do a little traveling to some matches in Texas and Arkansas maybe next year!

That's good news! Maybe you guys will shoot at the match in Winnsboro next year???

You can get a good warmup at the Louisiana Smallbore championship in Gonzales on August 30-31!

After almost two weeks to reflect on this years party and match, the most important thing is to say THANK YOU to all who have attended over the past 24 years. It has been an experience that you just wouldn't believe. I have made some great friends that I will never forget. Included among these are the shooters who came and gave us a chance, their families, and our sponsors. It is sad in a way that it has to end, but all things do, even the good ones. As David said earlier, a special thanks goes to our wives and families, who unselfishly let us use time to work on the match that we should have been home devoting to them. God Bless each and every one of you for coming and making this one of the most memorable events I've ever been involved in.
Jerry
