BB
My father retired before I was born....I was the youngest offspring from the class of 39 until one of them remarried a much younger woman. And his last tour was in Wright Pat/Ohio and I am a native cracker, so keep guessing.

Eh? Are you thinking we stayed on base all the time?! Or had to walk everywhere? And we were usually bright enough to avoid dependents anyway - didn't even know you were one, but should have guessed that much...

...and repeated the same "mantra" that I repeat to the shooter that I'm working with to remind them where they are in their shot sequence and to help them visualize what the sight picture should be when you squeeze the trigger.
And what was that "mantra", please?

Focus, see the spot, settle, settle, squeeze, see the bullet hit the spot....
Repeat as necessary

Would it save time to number these?
Sadly, my best scores were fired with a factory stock Remington 504, a Leupold VXII 6-18, and Eley Practice 100 (their budget ammunition at the time) and lots of practice. I was about to break into AAA and upgraded to a 1712, and have never shot those scores again. Excuse? Nope - lack of practice with that rifle, so shame on me.

Sometimes it's just the fun factor.... What I mean is sometimes when your relaxed and are just shooting and lettign the shots rol off you shoot your best scores Vs really trying because then you seem to tighten up and wait for the perfect sight picture, trigger squeeze, etc. all of which cause the problems of not gettign your best shot off. When you just relax and let your reflexs do the work (from as you said PRACTICE) that's when it all comes together. Knowing this and doing this are two different things though.

And BB we all know how relaxed you are with your 504
