Tim,
Does this mean we need to alter our caps to include the US???? Naw that will cost us money when the land of OZ returns. We need our own.
BTW may the team form down under have a safe trip back to OZ, Godspeed. Too bad you all are going to OZ and not a real country like Pig Islands!!!

Mike, You and Tammy would have the time of your lives. I have been to a lot of SB and HP nationals and they in no way compared to the cowboy matches. It is a much more relaxed atmosphere. You will also enjoy the Wittington Center and all the scenery. I can fill you in with all the particulars at Bradford. Al

I for one am hoping the Aussies will return, next time around, not only for the Cowboy Lever Action shooting but for some of that great "wait for the smoke (to pass)" black powder shooting, as well.

The CLA stuff was a hoot, this year; as others said -- I personally loved it, and had a lotta fun; even though I was just keeping score -- but I'm thinking that the more-relaxed pace of black powder would be even more fun, for blokes that like to joke around as much as those guys do!

Sorry I missed being able to get back out to the range, to see some of the state match that followed the nats! (And for what it's worth, we Ratonians "got dumped on," rain-wise ... hence the "distant thunder" heard over at the range.)

Mary -- thanks much for posting my "confession"! Heehee... all in good fun ... (Been too busy with guests, and then fighting with honchos in local political office, to have had time to even look at these forums; hence my late thanks!)

hi all
first of i would like to say it was a pleasure to meet you all. your warmth and generosity to us all was heart warming. :ymhug:
now as for mary ( innocent ) im sure she had her eye on me as i was the best looking ausi there and if mary is innocent then im the pope.
as for tim the pom ripped him of daily but as stated it all went to a good cause . =)) now as for the scorer he was two honest as no amount of us dollars
could buy me a good score and if you look at the score's posted you will know why i need help. :-q it was stated to me that i looked like a chook picking up wheat on the first day as nerves took over and i had a hard time picking up my bullets. :ymblushing: now i can't say i shot like a girl as the girls shot the shit out of
nearly all the men with one of the finest display of modern day silhouette shooting that i have seen. :-bd now i must clear the air about the young
target setter boy she was good looking but try as i might she only laughted at me and stated that the jump was probably all gone out of the old toad. X(
so now it's back to training so that i might make the next team to visit the NRA shoot's and New mexico one :-bd . now i have to go as the flower
(rose) @};- has that look in her eye :ymparty:

toad, you are full of S*%#, you were too busy to keep track of the scores on the rams. I do not recall doing anything other than trying to keep Barry and Bubba properly dressed and behaving themselves while representing the team from OZ. as for your best looking of the team, I'm sure GGTW will disagree with you on that.

G'Day All
Well I don' know what youve done to the boys but Toad, Leroy and The Butcher came up home after there trip and we went to lunch. They dressed like they had been some place awway from our nice cool weather. The Butcher wore a coat and the others sooked about the weather, while myself dressed in shorts and a short sleeve shirt just admired the light dusting of snow above the house. You have sure turned them soft.
Thanks to all that helped them out on the trip.
Creative Math: I have in the safe a Sharps just for the purpose you advise( it seems that as I couldn't go a new Styer FT and a BPCR ended up in the stable).
Also I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for my lovely wife, especially the ladies from Raton! She was overwhelmed when the Toad gave her the shawl today, you are truely remarkable people!! Thank you

Why heck...you could shoot b.p. in your leverguns too! If the Cowboy Silhouette Game was in exsistance in the 1800's, that's what they would be shooting. :D Personally, every once in awhile, I like to step back in time and shoot b.p. in my 44-40 and 45 Colt leverguns. I shot some b.p. in the last Cowboy Silhouette match I went to and it was a hoot! :D One fellow came up to me and asked if my gun blew up! Ha! What fun........

The New Mexico State awards banquet was a hoot, although I'm still not certain even today whether we made it out of there with all our awards, cash, or even the pocket books we started with... You see, we were late arriving and had to sit at the back of the room at the table with Mick, ExPom, and a few other characters of questionable behavior. My son won a few awards only to have to negotiate their release from the clutches of the resident "Jon/Staff"... Those in attendance know exactly of whom I speak.
...(snip)
Found a couple pics from the awards banquet, sorry for the poor lighting/composition:

This one started it all:

At one point in the evening, even the poor unsuspecting lady at the end of the table had to negotiate the release of her pottery from "sticky fingers".

We're still not certain if Dylan recovered all his stuff from "Jon Boy":

Lotsa fun though, looking forward to next year!

G'Day Mary
The Pig Pounders might be going to another group in OZ but I'm sure the Turkey Slappers will be available to you lol. A casual $2 bet between 3 of us many years ago seems to of gained a bit of momentum. May you all go forth and kill some steel.
CreativeMath I would like to send some BPCR Shooters one day but the logistics seem huge. Even though there is a small group of competitors here we haven't had a formal national championship yet. But I'm hoping to implement one in 2013 (with the SSAA's approval) and hold it every second year. This is only a plan as it needs to go before the RMS sub committee and the board. Some of the blokes and myself are looking a exporting some rifles from the USofA but this also has it's problems. Anyway it's some thing to look forward to.
