Raton update

Just a note from beautiful Raton NM. Gorgeous day, high temp in the 80's, low humidity, gentle breezes. No real activity to report, sight in and equipment check day. Have lost track of the number of pronghorn antleope I've seen, more than I would have ever expected. Only real "conflict" of the day of interest was when Carol Rosengist protested Chief Line Officer Ernie Kune's pole........that's all I'm going to say about that.....Looiking forward to the game's beginning tomorrow.....

Several other folks have camera's and want to post their take on things, so I'm going to try to be quiet and behave.

You guys feel free to jump on this thread or start your own, either way is cool...

This is going to be a lot of fun.......

Evelio sends his regards.......care package was much appreciated...Today was interesting....beautiful weather until late in the match, then rain and hail....A reeal battle is shaping up for both Standard rifle and hunter rifle national championships......fixin' to eat a little supper. Will post a summary and a few pix a little later. All partied out, staying in tonight....

We are all holding our breath for the results....

I sure hope they didn't lead you astray again Kitty :D

Please tell me they didn't talk you into wearing the thong and hot pink shirt.

Well I did not see any thongs so far and I am happy about that. The Wind on Tuesday morning would have been strong enough to rip a thong right from neihouse body. There is no doubt that the SHOOTERS make this sport great. I have never been around so many great people in any other discipline I have been a part of.

Mary Thanks for the spotting help on Tuesday. I learned alot and I see the value in a good spotter. You got my boy off to a good start.

Thanks Kevin, thats good to know. I was hoping they didn't talk Kitty into something where he would have to be explaining the pictures for years to come and been surfacing up all over the internet.

If you wern't there for the last day of SB, you missed one-heck-of-a-wind. We had to shoot swingers on the pigs and rams because they wouldn't stay up. Also, one of the best shoot-offs I have ever seen. It took Kathy 3 banks of turkeys to beat the Wilson girl. What a show.

Also if anyone has pictures of the AWESOME views specially the antelopes and other animals roaming around, please post them.

Results:

My wife outshot me by a total of three points, and she won Third place agg. for SBHR........It was a long drive to Albuquerque after the results.

But I think it was longer for the father of the 14 year old girl who beat him senseless in the shoot off for sixth place, and they're only driving to TAOS?

Pat, I have no doubt that you were proud that she beat you in the shootoff. What an experience for you. I bet this is a match that you wont soon forget especially since Elizabeth will never let you forget. lol
