I wanted to post a thank you to Mark Pharr and Evelio McDonald for there help with an idea I had for the Texas State Smallbore Rifle match earlier this year. I wanted to award a prize to one of the junior shooters at the match and with the help of Evelio & Mark here is what we did. I provided a Mark Pharr stock, Evelio provided the inlet and bedding, and Mark provided one of his custom trigger guards. We took the score cards of all of the junior shooters at the match and had a drawing for the winner. Reasoning behind this is I wanted the 9 or 10 year olds to have an equal chance of wining as the older junior shooters.

I'm not sure many here know how supportive Paul Freeman is of the junior shooters. I have a 11 year & 14 year old (Samuel & Thomas) who shoot (quite often beating dear old dad). We are slow and loud but we love to shoot.

Paul goes out of his way at each & every match to greet the boys. He goes well out of his way to let them know they are welcome and part of the group. He's made many contributions to their's and their scout buddies' shooting efforts.

We look forward to the PSC Club Championship each year. Paul & the gang there pull out the stops to include any junior shooter who shows up. My then 13year old nephew from Plaquimine, LA ( one of the infamous "Louisiana cousins" (I have 6 brothers & 2 sisters and my wife has 3 brothers and one sister; thus my sons are "cousin" rich)) shot his first rounds out of a firearm and his first match on the same day. He faired quite well and won a fine prize from PSC.

We need more Paul Freeman's in this sport!!

yes, Paul always goes waay out of his way and reaches deep into his own pocket to further the sport and make the kids fell welcome. Thank you, Paul.
Evelio does a nice job putting the prizes together, and Mark's products are top notch. A really great group of people.

I like that rifle and wow what a bargain. Everyone should take lessons from the marketing effort in TX. This is what brings people to matches. Especially young ones.

actually it's the parents that bring the kids to the matches. I've found that duct tape works well. I put it over their mouths as we leave the match, so I don't have to listen to their taunting.......

I finally beat my daughter, but I had to cheat. I made her shoot someone else's rifle (I didn't think she'd make the match because of a party, so her rifle got left at home) and bulk pack ammo. With no practice and no sleep. It was a narrow, but measurable victory. I need ideas for the next match. I was thinking of gluing/ clamping her targets down......... rrrrrrrrrrrr

How about some super glue between her fingers while sleeping. Or how about glue on the scope covers. These will insure you a victory. I wont tell anyone if you wont.

You guys out there watch out for this guy ( P. Staiger) he will do anything possible to get a laugh (laff) out of you, even shoot on somebody else target on a tres bandidos match and jeopardise his own chance of winning, just to get somebody pissed, and then laugh(laff) all the way home.

Don't you just hate talented kids??? In my case I have found it's better to get behind them and support them and pretend to be their coach, spotter, and mentor than to try to outshoot them........

I like the glue-on scope covers. That could give me a 5 animal lead.....not enough for a win, but it would make it closer. I tried fingerprints on her glasses, she got 10 in a row. I mixed her up a good bunch of pellets for the airgun match tomorrow. The 4200 is on her Hammerli. It's perfect. Thanks Kevin. Honestly, it's a hoot watching them improve. The first time she started calling my shot placement for wind correction killed me. When I hit her spots I hit the target.

As far as Evelio's charges are concerned, I was framed. I was at the far end of the line. I couldn't ven see the target I was accused of shooting. I suspect it was Larry Engle. Im just not that good. My rifle is, I'm not......

Wait a minute, I think you admited guilt to me. But then again I have no witnesses.
