Marlin 39A with Lyman 17A Question

Question: Looking for the best way to mount a 17A on the front of my 1948 39A.
I have been shooting a 39A with OEM sights for a few years and after going to Raton for the first time last year I decided to upgrade my sights.
I found a Redfield 75 NIB at a gun show and I purchased a base from Outback Gun Parts and everything installed fine. Then I added a Lyman 17A into the factory ramp dovetail and it shoots great but now I am realizing that I have the Redfield maxed out on elevation on the pigs so I need to somehow lower the front sight to get my elevation corrected. I am currently using a 3.1 aperture in the front and I am now thinking maybe I need to try a post insert to see if that helps but I really do like the aperture front.
Thanks in advance for any help!!
