I have an Anschutz 1710 with a single stage trigger.......

Somewhere on here I think I read that it can be converted into a two stage.....but I can't find the thread....... Who can do it; what does it cost; and do you think it's worth it? Thanks!

I think Neal Stepp at ISS in Fort Worth can do the mod.

If you do choose to do it, as Evelio said, Neal is the guy. On the worth it.... that's up to you and how you like your your trigger to feel. The single stage that you have breaks crisp, no travel. The two stage, for the 17xx series which I believe is the 5109 series trigger, has much more travel before it breaks. I have both and for me it depends on the day and how my carpal tunnel is doing, some days when it's not bad a single stage 2 lbs. trigger breaks is fine, but when it's bad I need the two stage to get the finger moving and it still feels like 10 lbs.

Best bet see who has one at the range and ask to try shooting it to see what you like better.

I have a two stage trigger ( NOT FOR SALE ) that you can try in your rifle, no brainer, all you do is unscrew the present trigger and screw the two stage on. You are welcome to try it, you pay for the shipping, which should not be more than $4.00 each way.

Evelio, not sure I want the responsibility! I always say to my friends, "I don't dance with other men's wives and I don't ride other men's motorcycles!" I think another man's trigger would be worse! I'd lay awake a nervous wreck! (but a totally generous offer, thank you......)


I've hit a 30 with the single stage, and at the Washington State Smallbore recently, my "reentry" effort, I managed a 28 and a 27........ maybe I'll just burble on for awhile........ practice more and quit looking at equipment for better scores! I do need a Pharr type stock, however. They can be fitted to 1710's, correct?

Just about any action out there can be fitted into a Pharr stock, even a 1022 except that one will double in cost for the inletting, only done one, and I swore never again, unless they have a lot of money.
