1712 feeding problem?

Hi,

I just bought a 1712 and it is having troubles feeding from the magazine. One out of five usually hangs up. The trouble is the bottom of the bolt is hitting hard on the shell that is still in the magazine as it is feeding one in the chamber. I have to release the magazine and then the shell feeds in fine. It does not do it every time. I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem and how to fix it.

Thanks,
Greg

Mine recently began doing the same thing, but I haven't investigated yet. It caused problems during the last match that I managed by manually feeding the cartridge.

I know the frustration.... My 1712 was doing it this summer and what I did was open up the magazine well a little where the release lever is. What's happening is your magazine is hanging up and being held up, or your holding on the the magazine while cycling. Once I slightly straightened the tabs where the pin goes through the release lever and gave it a little more room and everything is working fine.

All the problems I have had with feeding my Anshutz has been corrected by either buying new clips or bending the tabs to the correct configuration on the old one. Like the shop manual that came with my old Alfa. Find the proper screw and act upon it.

New Savage/Anchutz clips are very cheep and work in your New Anchutz after a little file work They are all metal and last a long time.
