My understanding is shooting bolt-action, open-sight 22LR rifles at half-scale animals (smallbore distances) is very popular down there. I'm sure if you wanted to use your lever-action rifle with buckhorn sights you would be welcomed to participate.
The two times I've gone down there for the Monarch cup have been fantastic experiences. Everyone is very welcoming and happy to shake your hand with an "hola" or "buenos dias"!
If you ever get a chance to go down there to shoot a match in the birthplace of Silhouette I highly recommend it!

Thanks, Allen.
I was reading some of the Lapua Cup stuff over on the NASSA site and just got curious. I'm actually a little surprised that lever action isn't more popular in Mexico, given the history of silhouette. I'm sure that lever actions were common rifles in the early days.
