Here's one for the subject matter experts:
I have an opportunity to buy either an Anschutz 8001 Club Air Rifle or the 8002 version - both originally from the CMP and marked as such.
They are both PCP, but other than that, I am having difficulty finding out the real differences between the two. Prices are the same.
I don't know ages, nor how long is left on the air cylinder - as if that really matters!
Of course they will be used for Air Rifle Silhouettes!

Can you tell me those differences and if I will really notice any difference between them?

A quick search shows that the 8002 has a stabilizer (for hammer bounce) and the 8001 does not. There may be some other difference in the stocks, but I'm not sure on that.

Cylinder age only matters to those wanting to use the rifle in official ISSF/3P/Olympic competitions as they constrain them to a 10 year lifespan. Doesn't matter for us lowly Silhouette shooters.

Out of curiosity what's the price on these?

The 8001 is a simpler rifle without the stabilizer.

They were on a bidding site.
Starting bids were $550 (with a 23% buyers premium).
They went for $950 each (plus premium and shipping if I were to buy them).

I didn't want to spend that much, so I passed!
Just wondered about them as a whole. I use an Anschutz SuperAir 2002 SSP as my Target (and Open) rifle!
Interested in getting a PCP for an Open rifle.
Will keep looking!

Were you going to upgrade the power on these to make it competative in open class? if not you will be at a huge disadvantage in open staying at 6 ft lbs
