Just got back and I am beat! Here are a few quick pics I managed to get during the event. To much to try to photograph and shoot but I am sure there are plenty others that have the rest.

All I can say for my 1st time going is that I will be back!

Three 60 shot airgun matches and 4 Smallbore matches and I am beat.

Off to bed for now. Will post more about the great time I had and the event itself when I am coherent enough to compose the words

Dee, thanks for posting the pictures. Just remember for folks who have not atttended Winnsboro most of the pictures of the targets show only 1/2 of the range. All the chickens are in the middle and the rest of the animals split off to the right and left. The firing line is so long that the Winnsboro Gun Club knew that it would take a person too long to walk the entire length of the firing line to get to your firing point. This also makes competitor traffic move faster between relays due to less congestion.

Dee, you may have thought you are tired and made the whole match but there were also three 40 shot approved Air Rifle matches to get things started on Wednesday June 4 followed by fried catfish and all the trimmings.

There's a reason I changed my mind about getting a springer or SSP and went with a Scuba gun after watching folks with springers during the qualifying matches!

For those that haven't tried air rifle, do yourself a favor and shoot a match - you'll love it!

Pat, thanks again for the instant loaner rifle to finish the Sporter Class match with after we had the ProSport failure. It was really nice to meet you and your daughter this week, you must be a proud papa the way that little lady shoots! Great to meet Blaubear and Bobby and son as well and again wow what a great shooter your son is also Bobby. We got there to late Wed. for the air rifle matches but did get a bit of practice in and enjoyed the fish dinner I shutter to think how I would be today had I made those 3 matches as well

Blaubear I see a Target PCP in my future as well, while I love my Steyr SSP for its self contained nature the thought of getting 150-200+ shots on a single fill from a PCP is tantilizing, especially when the temperature is 90+ degrees with 80% humidity I was wondering where you were during the SB matches this weekend but didn't realize you had to head home wish you could have stayed around longer.

Again it was nice to meet such great folks and enjoy 4 days of shooting and fun. Looking forward to next year already and hope to make the Midsouth Classic in Sept. as well.

June is a busy month around here, but it was great to at least make the air rifle matches this year! It's definitely a tribal gathering.

Looks like another fun year. I should have gone, it was 95+ up here in NH. At least they have swamp coolers in the South. I don't think any Yankees up here have even seen a swamp cooler with a green garden hose hooked up to it. Winnsboro was my first introduction to one. I could have used one up here!

Re airgun...I'd post this under airgun forum but few visit. I noted that on or around pic 24 there is an older guy shooting a FWB 300S with what looks like a BKL mount. The guys up here are looking for a scope mount solution for their 300S's and if anyone could tell me how to contact the guy, that would be great.

If you mean the one with the guy wearing the Camo Ballcap he lives down the street from me I am pretty sure they are BKLs which model I will have to find out. I believe its a one piece mount with a extension forward to the front ring and it likely has droop comp cut into it as well. Shooting around 550-600 fps @ 45 yards some scopes can run out of elevation with parallel rings/mounts etc.

BKL 254 and a riser. Coates Watkins sells them. PM Innocent and she'll fix you up. I don't use a riser on my 300S, but if you have an adjustable cheekpiece or a big bell, you can.

Not sure what the boy has left fut there is some BKL stock here still, we just got back this evening, haven't finished unpacking everything yet.

Bob, I wasn't the only one running barefoot at Winny, just the "Original" shooter doing that, as for the brass not a problem, just step lightly. There are no cactus, sand spurs or other sharp objects that normally break the skin when walking at Winnsboro.

I have fallen off the airgun wagon. I'm holding 5 matches in NH using Fenton's targets that he gave me if I shipped them. Well, after a few trips to the hardware store and a new cutting disk, they all fit in a 150 crate. This sport is addictive! Anyway, as I try to get airgun going, can you guys tell me what the trends were at Winnie for target gun equipment?
