Early Aust Day Cowboy training matches

Hello all,
Just a small note to thank Bugle, Bear & Dooga for organising a few Cowboy matches for the poor souls apparently destined for the U.S. later this year. We slotted in a few Cowboy matches after the Early Aust Day RMS shoot. As the team members are spread over a large area (some 1300kms) it is not often we can get together for a match.
(I should mention here that a good percentage of Ramslammers opted to use their 39As without scopes for the smallbore RMS. Of course the other Ramslammers who resisted the challenge all wore nail polish and heels for the duration of that event. Top score with a Cowboy 39A was a respectable 20/40 for the second match. Try it sometime it makes you work really hard.)
A good time was had by all, the best part naturally being all the Cowboy Ramslammer monies going back to South Australia. For those that follow this rubbish, that of course means that the Toads frame is still empty. Shame about that, not.
I'm surprised there has not been more posted on his fine forum by the down under silhouette crowd since our recent outing. But I suppose that nail polish is just hard to remove and time has been against them. I suppose this may bring on a few comments.
Regards to all,
Outback Mick

Outback Mick, might I suggest that perhaps it isn't the nail polish at all, but rather their backs are in pain from the heels and the 'nail' extensions are breaking when they are trying to type up a report.

Hi All,
Outback Mick, we shot another pistol cartridge match on Thursday while we were waiting for The Lawn Bowls of shooting to start. As there was only Bugle & myself we had to get one of our top Bench Rest shooters (Brendan Atkinson) to join us. Bugle 32, Bear 27, Brendan 17.
Regards

Modesty prevented me from posting about the Cowboy Ramslammer money that went home with me. As everyone knows far be it from me to go on about these things. Even if it was my first pick up and even that the Toad was my spotter.
Not often one ram takes home the money. But a ram at 500 with the win 94 44mag did deserves it

Thanks Innocent, more likely their fingers are dislocated after wives/gilrfriends caught them getting the "gear" off when they got home.
The Viscount of Kent mentioned Mr Atkinsons adventure into the world of the vertical. I suspect his knees were knocking together from standing up so long? Were there any nose bleeds?
Daisy, I still have the dulcet tones of "I'm in the money" wandering around my rather empty scone. But it is the dance that I found most disturbing, the stuff of nightmares. Congratulations on your upset you NADC.....
Regards,
Outback Mick

Women jealous of another woman....what a novel thought.
Now if you guys would play with real money like the NZ dollar I might come play!

i think it should be mentioned that the latest additions to the ramslammers took the majority of the money and did a fine job of harpooning anyone who looked like getting it(i'd say sorry to our glorious leader but the truth is it was the highlight of the weekend)

G'Day All
Just got home from the big island!
Yes it's true I can only hang my head in shame letting the pom harpoon me for some money.
Unfortunately I also had to put up with Daisy singing that song (I'm in the money) for two extra days down on the coast, sometimes I wish I hadn't started it. NADC
Innocent if you want to be paid in NZ dollars that will suit the Treasurer (Dooga) as we will end up in front on the exchange rate.
As Outback Mick stated some of us displayed the intestinal fortitude to display our skills with our cowboy rifles for normal smallbore. We might not of won but boy did we look good doing it!!!
Maybe Brendan might be seen at Para training with you blokes now if his knees will handle it.
The team has another training session at easter so I expect they'll be putting in the big ones.

Ramslammer...got let those boys from the big island gain a little confidence once in a while....or should I say let them get a wee bit cheeky. And Duckgumbo is one in favor of the look good doing it part even if it is costing some money, can't take it with you anyway.

Two shots , Two cans of target paint, thats 100 percent for the mathematically challenged or the equivalent of shooting a perfect 40 shot match. Oh yeah, unless I was at a different shoot to everyone else there wasnt anybody actually "looking good" at the whole range.

Butcher, I once had an algebra instructor in college that said everyone can do math, they just have to let their mind mature enough to focus on it. Some thirty plus years later I can appreciate that remark, so do you not think that the term 'mathematically challenged' is a little discriminating? Uh oh here we go off the topic of the thread.

having a mature mind counts out the butcher.
To all ramslammers who were in attendence: Just when you thought that quarter was the only person guilty of selling a 24" cowboy, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse me and outback have located a man who sold a perfectly good browning 86 in 45/70 the same as butchers for no real reason. I thought only victorians were that stupid, hang on he was a victorian
only 1 thing to say to that............... SHAME SHAME SHAME

ex pom....I didn't specify which side of the mind had to be mature! Now as long as he is responsible and pays his gambling debts who worries.

Hi All
Butcher I didn't see the paint can get shot with your 45/70 they tell it was a long range shot at 10 yards & the other was at 20 yards with a air rifle & you didn't mention the the coke can at 5 yards. That's 3 matches with a perfect score (100%). Do you want us to substitute paint cans for chickens for you at the True Grit shoot.

Yes please cause my immature mind has a very short attention span and I can maintain concentration much better with exploding paint cans as against boring old chickens.
Thanks bugle for dobbing me into the chairman for going surfing, the speed involved was truly amazing, my hair was still wet when he rang.
Appologies to Innocent for singling out the mathematically challenged, It has always been my inention to insult everyone equally .
