Checking trigger pull for hunter class

When weighing the trigger pull for hunter class by hanging a 2 lb weight on the trigger and lifting the rifle vertically to see if it goes click, how high do you lift it before it's declared ok? Is it enough to get it .001 inches off the table before the trigger releases or do you have to lift it up and hold it with the 2 lb weight hanging on the trigger to declare it legal?

I'm mainly interested in knowing how it will be done at Jacksonville and Winnsboro.

All you have to do is barely lift the weight before it goes off, more like .005" rather than .001" Old Hambone is really worried now !!!!!

You must be psychic...

We had to do an emergency trigger adjustment at Jacksonville last year on the Green Bay Packers 1712 because it didn't pass Dawg's trigger test. Just trying to avoid that hassle this time around.

If shooting 1 gun for both matches, can a hunter trigger be lightened after certification to shoot the standard match. Then
brought back to 2lbs for the hunter match?

Only if you're caught, and then it would probably get you tossed.

It would interfere with muscle memory anyway, so if you want a different setup build a separate rifle that will provide multiple cues to access a different set of reflexes.

I would be OK if the matches were on different days than split on the same day.
Then just tech the same gun twice right before the matches on their respective days.
