A benefit of not going to Raton

Folks

At yesterdays match at La Gloria silhouette club, I was match winner in HP with a score of 15/40, a personal best. Usually a score like that would put me in about 10th place, but all of the really good shooters were at Raton!

The mice will play while the cats away!!

Anyway, I shot hunter class for the first time, so I would not be unclassified for the CA state match at the end of the month. I was expeciting to be in B class, but made it into A, so my chances of placing in the CA match took a nosedive. But it was worth it to see the smile on the frace of my spotter (My lovely wife Sue) every time a critter went down.

And it would have been a 16/40 if that turkey I spun 180 degrees had gone down.

With all that practice your getting now ..I think your odds will improve...How about giving those hot shots a nasty surprize at the next match...bet that will put a bigger grin on everyones face...

We had a turkey match to make up for the nationals for those of us who did not go. We shot 40 turkeys( we could only get one target setter to volunteer =)) ) this last sunday and I scored 29 out of 40. Tied for the match win with Keith, needed three for the win and got two :( . Cant wait for the state match this month.

29 out of 40???.....TURKEYS?????? That is fantastic. Too bad you cant make Raton. Bet you would have done well . Me and Jim T. shot HP practice yesterday. I will be at Raton by noon on Wed.

Chris, I can understand your wife smiling at a hit animal. After all this time I still get a shit eating grin myself when I knock one down. You just cant help it. :) :D
