I thought I would share this photo of my daughter Meghan, age 16. The metallic silhouette bug has bitten her pretty hard. And maybe all that practice is paying off when it comes to hunting. I am really proud of her. She was hunting by herself from a tree stand and nailed this big 10 pointer at 180 yards. One shot, too!

Now if I could only get her to do her to do the field dressing!

Mark,
Congrats to both you and Meghan. Nice photo of a proud young lady too. Now to get around to the field dressing, and cooking part!!!

BB, what is wrong with shooting likea girl? 100+ meter shot, should be easy if you shoot enough silhouette!

Isn't this thread about Meghan and the deer?!

Besides Mary, I go to the range to get away from coaching...

BB, just a suggestion, Meghan could probably show you a little about shooting. She was a bit shy at the nationals, but we talked her into shooting on a team junior team that did well, I thnk it ieven surprised her a bit. Now this part of going to the range to get away from coaching???? Come on what shooter doesn't want to share their experiences with you?

We are blessed with some great youngsters (sorry Meghan, anyone under 30 is still a kid to me!) in the program. Listening to and watching other shooters, regardless of age, and getting their suggestions is always part of the range - it is always an education, and youngsters are fearless in trying new things! Us old farts have a little less bounce left in us, so we're choosier about our "learning" experiences.
