I'm mailing in my application tomorrow.

Anyone want to take me under their wing and squad with me?

I'm looking forward to coming down and enjoy the camping, shooting and drinking some of the sponsors beverages.

I will be coming alone so any info on where to camp and when to arrive would be great. I can get there anytime. I would love to be given an insiders tour. :D

Anyone need a coonass member I'm available. I'm a B class that could accidentally pull a good score out of my coona$$ at anytime. :D

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Both of you and too all others that have asked me.
Show up, you will be adopted no problem. As for thinking that you are not good enough to compete, DEAD WRONG.
There is no place like a big match to learn. I have competed in matches since three weeks after firing my first shot ever (38+ years ago) and I'm still learning. Shot my first ever high power match last year at the none other than the Nationals at Raton, second one in Phoenix this month. Lots to learn there, but this it is the classic example of having a great places to get the experience.

As for squadding, David will fit you in, he is great about judging experience shooters and putting them where they will be useful, and he does his best to follow requests.
I look forward to meeting you both.

I want to make sure I send in the correct info on my application. I want to shoot in both Hunter and Standard class. So I need to sign up a first rifle and a second rifle? For a total of $180. If this is correct, I'm ready to send it in.

Thanks ahead for answering the newby questions. :D

Yes there is power at the range, some have cell reception some don't, depending on who the provider is.

There is no place like the Southern Nationals to break into a big time match.....it's kinda like buying tickets to the circus and then finding out you're one of the clowns... :D

Jason,

I got your app and have you squadded next to Mary as her bank was full. I do my best to place shooters where they wish and where they will be most comfortable.

If you are planning on coming in for the air rifle, why not shoot in the match. There will be plenty of shooters willing to loan you their rifle and furnish the pellets as well as coach you. This is a great place to get qualified. If enough shooters show up on Wednesday, we could call Mr Connor and get a match approved so that new shooters can get qualified. Limey will be here all week and is always willing to help as we are busy running the Democrats and getting the range ready for the Southern Nats Smallbore match!
