Anyone have a list of Air rifles and pistols used at matches they can share?
I'm looking for something we can distill down to "what's typically used".

Air pistols is easy:
1. IZH-46M
2 Crosman 2300 or 22xx

Rifles is all over the place. There are not more than 3 of the same of any rifle at our matches.

Glad you started this thread. I was about to post the same thing. I'm shopping for an air rifle to practice with and carry to the southern nationals to try my hand at air rifle.

I'm looking at an Air Arms TX200 or a prosport. I like the Air Arms S400, I'm just not sure about PCP's. I'm leaning toward the springers.

I would love to see a list of what everyone uses.

In oz the more commonly seen air rifles include:

BSA hornet
Feinwerkbau P70FT
Anschutz 2025
Steyr FT100
and various of the Swedish FX brand, but I don't know if you get them in the US

these are all pcp - we only have an 'open' class, so spring guns aren't really in the overall running. You can, though, still get good results with a good spring gun, like the HW80 or HW97. They have great triggers, are accurate, but do mean that you will get a good workout during a match (this may or may not be good depending on your fitness) - plus you don't need to carry a scuba tank around.

0.177 is the main calibre.

and scope of choice is the Leupold EFR

A few of us here didn't want to go to whole pcp route and are using Air Arms TX200's with great results. The only disadvantage is that you have to be deliberate in your loading and aiming set. There's no time to waste to cock, load, aim and fire to get your 5 shots off in time. You'll get used to it and after using the gun for a year I even have time left after the last animal.

Thanks. That's probably what I will do. I know nothing about them except reading here and there. I guess it's always better to take a test drive before you buy. :D

So what air rifle does every one shoot? Is their a stand out like the 1712 in smallbore?

Different rifle for each class or shoot the sporter in all classes?

There are many and just as many reasons or more opinions out there for Air Rifles over SB... As for me I use an Air Arms TX200 for Springer , PCP Air Arms S400, Open is my Styer Z LG100 that I also use for FT and for Target class my Air Arms MPR

If your giopng to Whinny Limey should have a selection you can handle and I'm sure everyone will let you try theirs for fit and balance.

I have the AA400, and it is a no brainer gun. Great sporter trigger like a 1712, accurate, nice stock design, 100 shots on low power, easy to load, easy to scope, and it is quiet to shoot. There are a lot of good choices in airguns.
